At Viaplay Group, we measure our success as a company both by our bottom line and our contribution to the societies of which we are a part. By integrating sustainability considerations into our core business strategies, we maximize our positive impact and create long-term value for our shareholders and other stakeholders. Our sustainability efforts are focused on three areas – taking climate and environmental action, advancing diversity, inclusion and well-being, and promoting responsible business conduct and ethics. Viaplay Group’s work in these areas helps us to future-proof our operations, make our supply chain more resilient and play our part in addressing global challenges.

Our sustainability focus areas
We want to promote sustainability on- and off-screen, highlight environmental issues, reflect societal changes and inspire audiences to reduce their impact on the environment.
We work with our peers to develop standardised methods for measuring the climate impact of productions and streaming. We also make disclosures following TCFD recommendations on climate-related financial risks.
We want our work with equality, diversity and inclusion to start with our people, shape our stories and touch our societies.
We are committed to being a workplace where people from all backgrounds can express themselves. We offer content that appeals to a broad and diverse audience, and that reflects a plurality of views and voices.
We conduct business responsibly and with integrity, and we expect our suppliers and partners to do the same.
We stand by the principles of freedom of expression, editorial independence and responsible content, and follow ethical sourcing and production practices.
Sustainable production, our content & streaming
Viaplay Group works with suppliers and industry organisations on initiatives to promote sustainable production practices, accurately measure and minimise the climate impacts of streaming, and strives to always be responsible with its content.
Viaplay Group’s roadmap is integrated with the company’s business strategy and governance. It is supported by its own policy framework, targets and KPIs. The overall responsibility for the sustainability roadmap and progress against it rests with the Board of Directors. The Board monitors the sustainability work through regular updates, which include discussion of sustainability trends, risks, opportunities and developments. The Board delegates responsibility for managing sustainability topics to Viaplay Group's Head of Sustainability, who coordinates with other business functions to ensure operational responsibility for its implementation.
Each year, Viaplay Group discloses its sustainability performance in an integrated Annual & Sustainability Report, as part of the annual reporting cycle. The Report is reviewed and approved by the Board of Directors, and externally assured by independent auditor KPMG.
