The next original series from Nordic Entertainment Group (NENT Group) is political drama 'The Inner Circle'. Based on a bestselling novel by Swedish political strategist Per Schlingmann, the series premieres in 2019 across the Nordic region exclusively on NENT Group's streaming service Viaplay.

'The Inner Circle' (Swedish: 'Den inre cirkeln') is an intense, character driven drama straight from the corridors of power. Filming begins this week at Almedalen, a meeting place for Swedish politicians, business leaders and opinion shapers held every year on the island of Gotland, Sweden.

The eight part series is adapted from Per Schlingmann's bestselling novel 'I maktens öga' (English: 'In the Eye of Power'). Schlingmann's extensive background in Swedish politics includes 10 years in positions such as head of communications, party secretary and chief strategist for the political party Moderaterna.

'The Inner Circle' stars Niklas Engdahl ('Bonus Family'), Nanna Blondell (NENT Group's 'Hassel'; 'Real Humans') and Ebba Hultkvist Stragne ('Skärgårdsdoktorn'). The series is written and directed by Håkan Lindhé ('30 Degrees in February'; 'Modus'), and is produced by Håkan Hammarén at Fundament Film.

NENT Group has over 50 original projects already available or in the pipeline. 'Rig 45'; 'The Lawyer'; 'Stella Blómkvist'; 'ALEX'; 'Couple Thinkers'; 'Occupied'; 'Hassel'; 'Peppy Pals'; 'Superswede'; 'Veni Vidi Vici'; seasons one and two of 'Swedish Dicks'; season one of 'The Great Escape'; and season one of 'Black Lake' have already premiered. Recently commissioned originals include 'Cold Courage'; season two of 'The Great Escape'; 'Those Who Kill'; 'Four Hands Menu'; 'Hidden'; 'Wisting'; 'Pros and Cons'; 'Straight Forward'; and 'Conspiracy of Silence'.

NENT Group's originals are increasingly reaching global audiences. During 2017, 'Veni Vidi Vici' premiered on premium US streaming service Hulu; 'Swedish Dicks' on Pop TV in the US; and 'Black Lake' on BBC Four and AMC Networks-backed Shudder.
