Viaplay Group is a part of multiple sustainability networks and initiatives focused on climate and environmental action, as well as partnerships and collaborations that help us increase our contribution to a more equal, diverse and inclusive society.


UN Global Compact

We are a signatory of the United Nations Global Compact  and support its ten principles on human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption. These principles are integrated into our strategy and Group policies and directives, and we engage in collaborative projects to contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

UN SDG Media Compact

Viaplay Group has been working to advance awareness of the UN Sustainable Development Goals as a proud member of the UN SDG Media Compact since 2019.  

Responsible Media Forum

As a participant in the Responsible Media Forum partnership between leading global media companies, we work to address both social and environmental challenges facing the sector by sharing insights and working on collaborative projects that we could not implement on our own.  

Science Based Targets Initiative

In 2020, we joined The Science Based Targets Initiative we take action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions across our business and supply chain in line with the Paris Agreement.

Business Ambition for 1.5 Campaign

Member of the campaign, a call to action from a global coalition of UN agencies, business and industry leaders intended to raise the ambition of the global business community and promote leadership in the lead up to COP 26.

UN Race to Zero

A climate initiative mobilizing non-state actors who support the transiton to a healthy, resilient, zero-carbon economy– aiming to send governments a resounding signal that business, cities, regions, and investors are united in meeting the goals of the Paris agreement.

DIMPACT

Member of the collaborative project comprised of academics from the University of Bristol and 18 media and technology companies aiming to measure and reduce emissions across the entire value chain of digital media content 

BEAT Diabetes Foundation

As part of our work to promote an equal, diverse and inclusive society, we aim to lead the fight against diabetes together with companies, organisations and passionate individuals. Viaplay Group first committed to the fight against diabetes in 2017, when we launched our first Diabetes Gala. Learn more about our efforts and join us as we continue our fight against diabetes. 

 

In addition, we are a member of the Audio-visual Anti-Piracy Alliance, the Association of Commercial Television in Europe, the Freewheel Council for Premium Video, and other relevant industry associations. In Sweden, we are a founding partner of Women in Tech.
